EURAXESS launches a new e-magazine!
The first edition of the EURAXESS Magazine is now available online. The magazine gives you latest news from EURAXESS and histories and examples of successful EURAXESS activities. In addition you get an overview of useful facts and figures.
The magazine is provided in electronic format and it’s easy to scroll back and forth between the pages. You can easily zoom inn and out for larger size text. Also, the magazine includes short videos with sound. Have a look at the magazine:

“HR Excellence in Research”
To date, nearly 1000 institutions from 30 countries have expressed their explicit support for the Charter & Code. Institutions implementing Charter & Code have the right to use the “HR Excellence in Research” logo. This contributes to increased visibility and is important for attracting the best researchers. The University of Oslo and NTNU have the right to use this logo.
In 2009 the “HR Strategy for Researchers” was developed as an approach to implement the Charter & Code, and more and more institutions recognize the benefit of taking part.
The following are five reasons for research institutes to implement the Charter & Code:
1. You support a change in working culture
2. Your join a truly pan-European network consisting of researchers and research organisations
3. You stand for a stimulating and favourable working environment for researchers
4. You show that you care about your researchers/employees
5. You benefit from international visibility by using the “HR Excellence in Research” logo
And the following are five reasons for researchers to choose an institute who has earned the right to use the logo “HR Excellence in Research”:
1. Your right as a professional are recognized and enhanced
2. Your mobility experience is valued
3. Your work-life balance is respected
4. Your recruitment will follow a transparent process
5. Your join a truly pan-European network consisting of research organisations and researchers

Facts and figures
In 2009, the EURAXESS website had 3.4 million page views. In the same year 4 756 vacancies were published in 30 different countries. This number has increased from 3 924 in 2008. A key EURAXESS service is to assist in questions from mobile researchers moving to a new country. 56 000 researchers were assisted in 2009, answering over 108 000 questions. Activities and histories from the field
The magazine gives you examples of success stories from EURAXESS activities. Among others you can read about how Croatia is actively involved in the change of legislation to promote and facilitate researchers’ mobility, and how France delivers special trainings to lab secretaries who often are the first contact person for a new researcher. In addition individual experiences are presented such as the story from Christoph from France who moved to Norway accepting a post-doctoral research fellowship in geology at the University of Oslo. “In cases like mine, I can’t imagine how the system could be any better” says Christoph.
The last part of the magazine gives you an introduction to the EURAXESS T.O.P. project which started January 2010 and runs till end of June 2011. In addition you can read about various EURAXESS training sessions which took place in 2009.
