The Research Council of Norway and the Association of Higher Education Institutions invite you to the seminar on "How to attract and retain excellent researchers?".

Ellen Pearce, Director of Vitae will present experiences from UK. Experiences will also be presented from Norwegian universities and university colleges. Toril Johansson, Director General, Department of Higer Education from Ministry of Education and Research will present the Norwegian action plan on the European Partnership for Researchers, and Dagmar Meyer from the European Commission will present perspectives from a European context. Inga Bostad, pro-rector of University of Oslo will summarise the day.

How to attract and retain excellent researchers?
Experiences from the UK and Norway

Cost: No participant fee

The seminar will be of special interest to university and university College management and to staff working on tasks related to HR, international affairs, research collaboration, mobility, and recruitment.

The British organisation Vitae will provide an overview of their work and explain how they go about realising the UK vision to be world class in supporting the personal, professional and career development of researchers.

The Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research will present their goal for internationalisation of the Norwegian higher education institutions. Representatives from Norwegian universities and university colleges will present their status on implementing the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

Dagmar Meyer from the European Commission will provide the background and state of play from a European context. In addition there will be a short presentation on the promotion of research vacancies through the Euraxess portal.
