Additional comments

About the Ph.D.-project

The theme for the research project is the relationship between politics and sports/outdoor life. Based on this, the Ph.D. research fellow should outline a more specific topic area for his or her doctoral project. It can, for example, be the relationship between politics, sports and facilities; recent political signals about sports and physical activity and consequences for the population's activity habits; the relationship between politics and administration in the planning and facilitation of physical activity and sports in the population; the population's experience of the authorities' regulation of their voluntary physical and sporting development and the like. Potential applicants must themselves define their topic within this relatively broad problem area. However, the project must be related to the areas of cultural understanding and / or cultural policy, as described in the Ph.D. program for cultural studies.(https://www.usn.no/english/research/postgraduate-studies-phd/our-phd-pro...). Applicants are asked to formulate a project description in which more precise and limited issues, as well as theoretical and methodological choices, are presented and justified.
