Offer Description

  • Independent teaching and examination activities or supervision of students in the subjects of solo accompaniment in early music (for voice and melody instruments), basso continuo, and supplementary subject harpsichord
  • Supervision and co-organization of concerts and events of the Early Music Department (study concerts, special projects)
  • Networking with the department’s teaching staff and participation in department and group meetings
  • Assisting with organizational, administrative, and evaluation tasks, as well as in university commissions and committees
  • Assisting with the maintenance of keyboard instruments (tuning for personal use) 

Minimum salary: Taking into account at least 3 years of previous experience in the field, the gross monthly salary is € 4,476.50 (14 times)

  • A university degree relevant to the position or equivalent artistic qualifications
  • Outstanding artistic qualifications in the field to be filled, as well as international concert experience
  • Outstanding pedagogical and didactic skills relevant to the field of activity, which can be assessed in a teaching demonstration
  • Proven teaching experience of at least 3 years
Specific Requirements
  • Extensive concert experience (opera, orchestra, chamber music, solo)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the repertoire of 17th and 18th century music
  • Sight-reading skills
  • Expertise in historically informed performance practice and basso continuo
  • Flexibility, teaching skills, ability to work in a team, and strong interpersonal skills

Selection process

If invited, hearings are expected to take place on 1 and 2 July 2026 in Vienna.
