Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for full-time or part-time fixed term position/s (up to 1 FTE) as a Research Assistant with HRB Clinical Research Facility Galway at the University of Galway, Ireland.
This position is funded by the European Union and is available from 08/06/26 to contract end date of 31/11/26.
Who We Are
The HRB Clinical Research Facility Galway (HRB CRFG) is a joint venture between Galway University Hospitals, Saolta University Health Care Group, and University of Galway. Established in 2008, we provide the infrastructure, expertise, and culture needed to support high-quality bioscience research and clinical trials.
We focus on translating research into regulatory-approved advances in patient care, supporting Phase 1 safety studies, Phase 2 efficacy trials, and Phase 3 multi-centre studies. Our experienced team works in collaboration with academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and research organizations nationally and internationally.
Description
The HRB Clinical Research Facility Galway currently has the following vacancies:
Research Assistant (Phase 1 Clinical Trial - Medical Cover) - 2 x up to 1.0 FTE posts
These positions have been created to provide dedicated medical coverage for participants enrolled in the COUNTERACT SIS-02 Phase 1 clinical trial - a first-in-human study evaluating the safety and tolerability of an inhaled small molecule anti-pathogen drug.

Salary: Research Assistant salary scale €33,791 to €43,872 per annum, (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.
Employment permit restrictions apply for this category of post.
NB: Gárda vetting is a requirement for this post (as appropriate to Child Protection Policy)
