We are seeking for a full-time Senior Cloud & MLOps Engineer to join MetaMind Innovations P.C. in our Research & Development department in Kozani, Greece or in our Business Development department in Thessaloniki, Greece. MetaMind Innovations P.C is the first spin-off company of the University of Western Macedonia playing a pivotal role in the region of Western Macedonia and in northern Greece. As a Senior Cloud & MLOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure and machine learning operations pipelines (preferably) on Microsoft Azure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, build production-grade MLOps and DevOps systems, and ensure the reliability, security, and performance of cloud-based solutions. You will be expected to work independently, demonstrating strong decision-making skills and the ability to propose effective engineering solutions. Additionally, you will contribute to architectural decisions, conduct code reviews, and drive best practices in cloud operations and software quality to support the success of our projects. You will participate in national and EU-funded projects, leading technical and non-technical tasks and work packages.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain complete CI/CD ecosystems for software and Machine Learning (ML) models, including automated testing, reproducible builds, controlled release strategies, and governance workflow integration.
• Build and manage containerized infrastructure on AKS, covering image lifecycle management, vulnerability scanning, standardized deployment manifests, and orchestrated rollout techniques.
• Implement and enforce centralized secret management practices using Azure Key Vault, ensuring secure credential handling, automated injection into pipelines, and enforced rotation policies.
• Design and validate comprehensive backup and recovery strategies, including retention policies, redundancy requirements, and scheduled restore exercises.
• Create and maintain automated test suites encompassing unit, integration, and security tests, fully integrated into deployment pipelines.
• Support backend engineering initiatives based on scalable Python microservices, contributing to architectural reviews, code quality improvements, and production-grade deployment practices.
• Design and maintain scalable Azure ML compute clusters with autoscaling, monitoring, and resource optimization to support high-performance ML training and inference.
• Build automated ML training job scheduling frameworks with robust artifact versioning, ensuring traceability, auditability, and compliance alignment.
• Implement and manage unified model registry platforms, covering versioning, lifecycle tracking, and integration with existing toolchains.
• Develop automated model monitoring and drift detection frameworks to support proactive retraining decisions in production environments. 

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering/informatics or other technical fields.
• 3+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or MLOps.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure principles, including networking, security, scalability, and resource management on Microsoft Azure.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English language.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and agile development methodologies.
• Solid understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/AKS) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Strong team collaboration skills, enthusiasm, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to discuss, negotiate and work in international environment.
• Experience in delivering technical and non-technical reports.
• Ability to travel abroad when required.
• Ability to work independently and propose effective engineering solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or MLOps, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure and ML lifecycle management.
• MSc degree in computer science/engineering/informatics or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in Azure ML, MLflow, Azure Key Vault, AKS, and Terraform, with experience in building and operating production-grade MLOps pipelines.
• Proven experience with automated model monitoring, drift detection, and retraining strategies.
• Practical experience with AI/ML applications and IoT technologies.
• Diverse skill set and portfolio are a big plus.
