Offer Description

With the support of the multidisciplinary DEFROST/INRIA team, the recruited postdoc will contribute to the development of a real-time digital twin for flexible surgical robotics. This includes high-fidelity modeling of soft tissue and flexible instruments, robust contact solvers, and GPU-accelerated solvers for minimally invasive surgical (MIS) scenarios. The postdoc will also validate simulation outcomes using experimental models and integrate control algorithms for automated surgical tool operation.

The position offers the opportunity to collaborate with researchers, biomedical engineers, and clinicians specializing in MIS, surgical robotics, and digital health. The role supports demonstrators for intestinal navigation and vascular guidewire interventions, aiming for high clinical relevance and preclinical validation.

  • Integration of high-fidelity models into SOFA

  • Robust contact modeling

  • Real-time solver design

  • Demonstrators and validation
