Offer Description

The National Institute of Horticultural Research is looking for a candidate for the position of Research Assistant in the Fruit and Vegetable Storage and Processing Department, in the Laboratory of Postharvest Physiology of Horticultural Products.

The candidate’s responsibilities will include:

  1. Planning, establishing, and conducting experimental work related to storage and quality assessment of fruits and vegetables.
  2. Performing laboratory work and interpreting the obtained research results, including statistical analysis.
  3. Preparing reports and scientific publications based on the conducted research in both Polish and English.

Requirements:

-    A Master’s degree in Agriculture or Horticulture,

-    At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar position in a scientific institution with a horticultural profile,

-    Theoretical and practical knowledge of horticultural plant physiology; experience working with berry crops will be an advantage,

-    Knowledge of techniques related to fruit quality assessment,

-    Scientific achievements in the natural sciences, supported by popular science articles and at least two scientific publications,

-    Active participation in international and national scientific conferences,

-    Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Statistica, and experience working in a laboratory.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates are requested to submit the following documents:

-    Application for employment for the position of Research Assistant,

-    A copy of the Master’s degree diploma,

-    Scientific CV including current scientific achievements and a list of publications, conference presentations, and information about research projects carried out,

-    Declaration of no criminal record,

-    Statement of English competence or confirmed by a certificate,

-    Consent to the processing of personal data (applications without consent will not be processed),

-    Statement from the candidate confirming that, if employed as a Research Assistant, the National Institute of Horticultural Research will be their primary place of employment.

Selection process

Applications should be submitted by April 25, 2026by e-mail (aplikacja@inhort.pl), either in person or by registered mail to the Human Resources Department of the National Institute of Horticultural Research, Pomologiczna Street 18, 96-100 Skierniewice, Poland.

Candidates will be notified by phone, e-mail or post about the date of the competition, including the interview with selected candidates in person or using an IT system enabling it to be performed remotely.
