Offer Description
The Hospital Universitario de La Princesa Biomedical Research Foundation is inviting applications for a Senior Graduate position within the Rheumatology Research Unit of Hospital Universitario de La Princesa, under the direction of Dr Isidoro González Álvaro.
REQUIREMENTS
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Vocational Training Qualification (Advanced Technician Diploma) in Clinical and Biomedical Laboratory Science.
- EXPERIENCE / TRAINING
- Experience in immunomagnetic isolation of lymphocyte populations.
- Experience in primary cell culture.
- Experience in flow cytometry staining techniques.
- Experience in histology and immunohistochemistry techniques.
Experience in administrative management of laboratory orders and procurement.
- OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in the processing of blood and urine samples (centrifugation, aliquoting, etc.) for storage in clinical or research studies.
- Training courses in nucleic acid extraction from peripheral blood cells and/or tissues.
- Training course in the use of flow cytometry.
- Training course in cell culture techniques.
- Knowledge of English.
- Participation in research projects.
Participation in conference presentations and/or scientific publications.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
All tasks will be carried out within the framework of participation in the Network:
- Collaborate with researchers in the planning and implementation of laboratory activities required for the development of research projects.
- Support the processing and management of biological samples.
- Participate in laboratory experiments and procedures related to the Network.
- Ensure the proper handling, recording, and preservation of samples and data derived from experimental activities.

Additional Information
The selected candidate will work on a full-time basis, with a working week of 37.5 hours, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, including the corresponding lunch break. The annual gross salary will be €26,000.00 (including base salary, proportional payments of additional salary instalments, and employer contributions).
This contract is awarded in accordance with Article 23 bis of Law 14/2011 on Scientific and Technical Activities Contracts, and is linked to the research project “Network for Inflammatory Diseases (REI) – RD24/0007/0006”.
This contract is entered into in accordance with Law 14/2011 on Scientific and Technical Activities Contracts and is associated with the Red de Enfermedades Inflamatorias (REI), under the 2024 call of the Strategic Action in Health programme – Inflammatory Diseases Networks of the Instituto de Salud Carlos III (ISCIII) – RD24/0007/0006.
This contract is co-funded by the European Union.
Assessment Criteria: The evaluation criteria for this vacancy are as follows, up to a maximum of 100 points:
- Previous experience in research laboratories: 1 point per month worked, up to a maximum of 20 points.
- Previous experience in clinical analysis laboratories: 0.5 points per month, up to a maximum of 10 points.
- Specialised laboratory technique courses: 2 points per course, up to a maximum of 10 points.
- Participation in research projects: 1 point per project, up to a maximum of 5 points.
- Conference presentations and publications: up to a maximum of 5 points:
- 0.5 points per conference presentation.
- 1 point per publication.
- Knowledge of English:
- 3 points for B2 level.
- 5 points for C1 level.
- Personal interview: up to 45 points.
Applications meeting the qualification requirements and submitted within the application period will be reviewed by a selection panel composed of three members (one Chair and two panel members).
The applications received will undergo a curriculum assessment, during which candidates will be awarded points based on the merits and qualifications relevant to the requirements of the post.
Subsequently, shortlisted candidates may be invited to attend a personal interview.
