Offer Description
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- the successful candidate must satisfy the requirement of having no criminal record with regard to offences specified in Chapters XIX and XXV of the Polish Penal Code, in Articles 189a and 207 of the Penal Code, as well as under the Act of 29 July 2005 on Counteracting Drug Addiction (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 1939), and equivalent offences defined under foreign law;
- have a Master's degree in socio-economic geography and spatial management, architecture and urban planning, landscape architecture or another related disciplines;
- scientific interests in the field of research activity of the Institute of the Built Environment and Spatial Policy;
- have scientific achievements including at least one scientific publication published in a peer-reviewed publishing house;
- have the status of a doctoral student at a doctoral school (an additional advantage) or plan to apply to such a school;
- demonstrate command of at least one western language (English, German, French);
- have the ability to lecture in Polish;
- have predispositions for research and teaching work;
- have organizational skills
Responsibilities:
1. Conducting research on topics covered by the Institute and related to the student's own academic development, and publishing the results, indicating the University of Lodz affiliation;
2. Applying for and implementing research grants;
3. Disseminating research results through active participation in scientific conferences and seminars, as well as preparing scientific articles for peer-reviewed journals;
4. Improving one's professional qualifications to obtain further academic degrees and titles;
5. Participating in organizing conferences, symposia, seminars, and other academic activities;
6. Conducting classes for students in the fields of study offered at the Faculty of Geographical Sciences, University of Lodz;
7. Conducting assessments within the scope of conducted classes; supervising students' final and semester papers;
8. Conducting consultations with students;
9. Improving one's own professional qualifications within the scope of conducted classes;
10. Collaborating with the socio-economic environment, with particular with institutions and practices related to spatial management and planning;
11. Performing other organizational duties assigned by the immediate superior, including activities aimed at improving the functioning of the Institute/Faculty/University and improving the quality of education and research.

– A declaration of intent to take up employment at the University of Łódź as the primary place of work on a full-time basis;
– Declarations in accordance with the templates constituting Annexes 1 and 2 to the Standards for the Protection of Minors in force at the University of Łódź.

Information on personal data processing for a job candidate1
1. The Controller of your personal data is the University of Lodz with its registered office at
Narutowicza 68, 90-136 Łódź.
2. You may contact the Data Protection Officer in all matters related to the processing of your
personal data and the exercise of your rights connected with the processing of personal data
by the University of Lodz, using the correspondence address indicated above with the note
“Data Protection Officer”, or by email at: iod@uni.lodz.pl
3. Your personal data will be processed for the purpose of conducting the recruitment.
4. Personal data will be processed:
1) based on the applicable provisions of the law, including the Labour Code;
2) based on your consent for personal data processing – when the legal provisions do not
give grounds for data processing;
3) if you give a separate voluntary consent for personal data processing during future
recruitments by including a declaration in your application. In order to do so please
include the following statement: I consent to the processing of my personal data,
contained in the application, for future recruitment conducted by the University of Lodz.
5. Recipients of your personal data will be entities processing personal data on behalf of and
for the University on the basis of the concluded agreement and other entities authorised
under the law.
6. Personal data will be processed:
− no longer than for three months after the recruitment process is completed. In justified
cases the data will be kept in accordance with other provisions of law, including the
Civil Code;
− for persons who gave their consent to the processing of personal data for the purpose of
future recruitment, no longer than for 12 months from the end of the recruitment process.
7. You have the right to:
1) access the content of your data;
2) rectify your data when they are not accurate;
3) erase or limit the processing and transfer your data – in cases provided for by law;
4) object to the processing of your personal data;
5) withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of the processing
that was carried out before the withdrawal of consent;
6) lodge a complaint to the supervisory authority, which is the President of the Personal
Data Protection Office.
8. The provision of personal data is voluntary but necessary for the purpose referred to in
section 3.
The processing of personal data is carried out on the basis of: Article 6(1)(c)(a) and Article
9(2)(a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April
2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on
the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation Dz.U.UE.L.2016.119.1).
