Offer Description
The purpose of the contract is to support the development and implementation of the project, including:
- Detection of Streptococcus pneumoniae in clinical samples by PCR at the Clinical Microbiology Unit of the Regional Public Health Laboratory of the Community of Madrid
- Serotyping of clinical samples using molecular techniques
- Support in sequencing Streptococcus pneumoniae strains
- Support in the acquisition, control and storage of reagents and consumables
- Management and supervision of database preparation related to the project
- Support in the preparation of scientific reports and publications

For degrees issued outside Spain but within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), certification must be accompanied by a simple translation into Spanish or English.
For degrees issued outside the EHEA, the diploma must be accompanied by a simple translation into Spanish or English, as well as the relevant equivalence certificate or recognition credential issued by the competent authority.
Applicants must hold the required qualification by the closing date for applications.
Applicants must be able to take up the position on the date established at the time of contract formalization. Failure to do so will result in the automatic loss of rights associated with the awarded contract.
The selection process will consist of a merit‑based competition. All merits must be held by the application deadline.
- Professional experience as a Specialist in Microbiology and Parasitology (maximum 15 points)
- Professional experience in Massive Sequencing (maximum 15 points)
- Training in Bioinformatics (maximum 15 points)
- Experience in developing applications for microbiological data exploitation (maximum 6 points)
- Training in Public Health, Epidemiology and Statistics (maximum 5 points)
- Participation in research projects, conference presentations and scientific publications (maximum 5 points)
- Development and implementation of new molecular techniques in the laboratory (maximum 5 points)

Additional Information
Salary will be established in accordance with the Second Collective Agreement for the group of Biomedical Research Foundations of the SERMAS, within the category of Senior Researcher – Higher Degree Holder.
Phase 1: Merit evaluation – up to 70 points
Candidates scoring at least 35 points may be invited to an interview.
Phase 2: Skills assessment and interview – up to 30 points
A minimum total score of 50 points is required to be appointed.
Applications meeting the requirements will be assessed by an Evaluation Committee composed of three members (Chair and two members). Identity verification may be requested at any stage.
A provisional list of admitted and excluded candidates will be published, with a 1‑day correction period.
Merits must be properly documented. The position may remain vacant if no suitable candidate is found. A ranked reserve list may be created.
The Evaluation Committee will issue the final decision.
