Offer Description
The candidate will generate single-cell and single-nucleus transcriptomic atlases together with single-cell ATAC-seq datasets across sea urchin and sea star development. Cell types and their regulatory signatures will be identified and spatially validated using Hybridization Chain Reaction in situ hybridization (HCR-ISH) and immunohistochemistry (IHC). Finally, the candidate will investigate the evolutionary origins of the echinoderm brain–gut axis through comparative analyses with single-cell atlases from diverse metazoanspecies to reconstruct the evolution of conserved cell types and their underlying gene regulatory programs.

Italian or foreign candidates may participate in the selection procedure if they possess: MSc degree in Biology or equivalent qualification obtained abroad obtained no more than six years ago as well as a curriculum suitable for assisting in carrying out the research activities covered by the assignment, Knowledge of English.
