University Professor of Voice 

Salary grade W 2 LBesG | Civil servant (tenured)

to be filled starting October 01, 2027.

The subject of Voice, with its specializations in concert, opera, and Baroque singing, is a key area of study at Mainz School of Music. Students benefit from close collaborations, particularly with the departments of orchestral instruments, piano, and church music. 

Tasks and expectations:

We are seeking an artistically outstanding candidate (tenor / baritone / bass) who can represent the full spectrum of vocal performance and who will further develop the Department of Voice in a future-oriented manner through active collaboration with the other departments at Mainz School of Music and with other partners, and who will establish networks with the various professional fields.  

Additionally, we expect the holder of the position to:

• teach 18 semester hours per week across all vocal performance programs,
• contribute to the design and implementation of modern and forward-looking academic offers in the degree programs of the Department of Voice,
• network and cooperate with relevant regional and national institutions and networks,
• advise and mentor Voice students at all stages of their degree program,
• organize and supervise projects in the Department of Voice, particularly opera and concert projects.

We expect the holder of the position to actively contribute to the School of Music as a whole, support its self-organization, and help further develop its degree programs.
