Implementation of and support for research projects
o Support for the activities involved in the implementation of the research project,
in line with its specific objectives.
o Organisation and coordination of administrative and logistical tasks relating to
the projects.
o Submission of reports and findings from the research project to the group’s
managers or partners.
 Experimental work and sample handling
o Advanced sample preparation: lysis, extraction, quantification and digestion
(including specific methodologies such as S P3).

Cell cultures: maintenance of cell lines and application of specific treatments.
o Peptide processing: chemical labelling and pre-fractionation of peptides for
subsequent analysis.
o Instrumental analysis: carrying out sample analysis using liquid
chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
o Collection, processing and analysis of various biological samples (blood,
tissues, etc.).
o Carrying out general laboratory tasks to ensure the smooth running of daily
workflows.
 Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
o Operation, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of complex laboratory
equipment and instrumentation (including LC-MS/MS, PCR, flow cytometry and
microscopy systems, etc.).
 Data management and analysis
o Analysis, processing and interpretation of experimental and spectrometric data.
o Use of statistical, bioinformatics and specialised software for managing results.
 Documentation, reports and scientific writing
o Conducting literature searches and reviews on evidence-based intervention
components.
o Support with scientific writing: collaborating on the drafting of scientific articles,
abstracts and posters for conferences and publications.
o Preparing technical reports and presentations of results.
 Protocols and procedures
o Collaborating on the development, fine-tuning and optimisation of experimental
protocols (both general and those specific to proteomics and cell biology).
o Strict compliance with the centre’s and laboratory’s ethical, legal and biosafety
regulations.
 Training and supervision
o Participation in the training, guidance and supervision of new staff, trainees or
students joining the group, where applicable.

Degree in science or equivalent.
 Master's degree in a related discipline
 Experience in proteomics and mass spectrometry

Contract: Temporary
• Working hours: 90%
• Base salary for the category: €23,373.39 for a 90 % working week (€25,970.43 gross per
annum for a full-time position)
• Place of work: Biobizkaia Health Research Institute
• Unit or service: Cell Signalling and Proteomics Group
• Expected start date: Immediate
The employee must comply with the center's operating rules in terms of dedication,
duties, working hours, and vacations. Candidates for this position will be included in a
Job Pool that may be considered for future project requirements (Ref. BIO24/CA/003/BB).

Experience in sample preparation for proteomic workflows (0–25)
 Experience in analysing samples using mass spectrometry (Vanquish Neo and Exploris
480) (0–25)
 Experience in proteomic data analysis (msfragger, DIANN) and the use of statistical
software (Prostar, Limma) (0–25)
 Experience in cell culture and molecular biology (0–15)
 Language qualifications in English and Basque (0–5)
 Certificate of disability minimum 33% (0-5)
