Biological, morphological and genomic characterisation of bacteriophages,
•    Conducting cell cultures, including co-cultures of different cell types, and investigating the effect of bacteriophages on their growth and immunological activity,
•    Investigating the interaction of newly isolated bacteriophages with mammalian cells,
•    Analysing the immunomodulatory properties of bacteriophages,
•    Supervising students and interns,
•    Applying for research funding through external grants,
•    Presenting research findings at conferences,
•    Preparing scientific publications based on the research carried out.

In particular, the candidate should:
a.    hold a Master’s degree, a Master of Engineering degree or an equivalent qualification in the biological, medical or a related field,
b.    have at least 5 years’ experience in scientific research,
c.    possess knowledge and experience in planning and conducting scientific research in the field of bacteriophage biology, evidenced by at least 3 scientific publications from the JCR list in which the candidate is the lead author,
d.    possess knowledge and experience in cell culture of various types of eukaryotic cells (commercial cell lines, cells isolated from animals, cell co-cultures),
e.    demonstrate active participation in academic life, evidenced by the presentation of the results of their own research in scientific publications, including at least
three original publications with an Impact Factor (IF), in which the Candidate is the lead author and/or corresponding author,
f.    demonstrate active involvement in the preparation and implementation of research projects
in the role of project researcher/project leader,
g.    demonstrate involvement in the supervision of students and/or trainees,
h.    document research placements undertaken or work carried out at more than one academic/research institution,
i.    present ongoing, documented scientific collaborations,
j.    demonstrate active participation in the popularisation of science.
2.    Additional skills and experience of the candidate that are desirable for the post (in accordance with § 4(3)(k) of the Regulations on the conduct of competitions for academic posts at the Institute of Information Technology and Telecommunications of the Polish Academy of Sciences)

LIST OF DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FROM APPLICANTS:
Detailed recommendations regarding the minimum formal requirements for candidates applying through a competition for academic posts at the Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences are set out in Annex 1 to the Regulations on the Conduct of Competitions for Academic Posts at the IITD of the Polish Academy of Sciences. The assessment of candidates will be carried out on the basis of the Candidate Assessment Form (Appendix 2 to the Regulations).
1.    a copy of the degree certificate confirming the award of the professional title,
2.    a covering letter,
3.    a CV outlining the candidate’s academic profile (including professional career history, career breaks if the candidate deems it appropriate to mention them, a list of publications with a description of the candidate’s contribution to their creation, work placements, internships, training courses, workshops, participation in or management of research grants, supervision of students and/or trainees, and the popularisation of science),
4.    a description of the candidate’s most significant scientific achievement(s),
5.    the candidate’s research plan,
6.    other documents confirming that the requirements are met (e.g. letters of recommendation, certificates, etc.).
