The Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in Environmental, Water and Agricultural Engineering. The Environmental, Water and Agricultural Engineering Unit serves as a hub for pioneering research and education in environmental systems, water resources, and sustainable agricultural engineering. Our mission is to develop innovative technologies and scientific knowledge that support robust urban and rural systems, sustainable resource management, environmental protection, and climate resilience. We welcome applications from candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Climate change adaptation and mitigation, including renewable energy systems, greenhouse gas removal (CDR and AMR), climate modeling, ecosystem restoration, and ecosystem resilience
- Water resources engineering and management, including urban water systems, urban hydrology, stormwater and surface runoff, drainage, managed aquifer recharge, flood prediction, and flood risk management
- Environmental fluid dynamics, including atmospheric modeling and transport processes
- Wastewater engineering, including sustainable wastewater treatment, resource recovery, and safe water reuse
Exceptional candidates working in related areas are also encouraged to apply.
Appointments are expected at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) level, although exceptionally qualified candidates may be considered for appointment at a higher academic rank, commensurate with their accomplishments and experience. Preference will be given to early-career researchers.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline and should demonstrate ability to establish an independent and externally funded research program. Successful candidates are expected to exhibit a strong commitment to excellence in research, teaching and graduate student supervision.
