About
Research Assignment “Experimental Aerosol-Cloud Interactions”
The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences, Foundation of Research and Technology - Hellas, (FORTH/ICE-HT) is seeking applicants for research work in the context of the research project “Pyrogenic Transformations Affecting Climate and Health”, Grant Agreement number: 726165 — PyroTRACH — ERC-2016-COG, which is implemented under the H2020-EU.1.1. - EXCELLENT SCIENCE - European Research Council (ERC).
Job Description
To conduct research under a work or a fixed-term employment contract in the framework of the aforementioned project "PyroTRACH". The main objective of PyroTRACH is to quantify the evolution of biomass burning emissions in the atmosphere together with their impacts on human health and climate. The objective of this position is to analyze data collected from the CALISHTO Aerosol-cloud interaction campaign, to writeup and publish related research results in peer-review journals to present results in scientific conferences and to support related ongoing activities in the research group.
Location: FORTH/ICE-HT, Patras, Greece
Duration: up to 3 months, with the potential of renewal or extension according to the needs of the project and performance
Salary: up to approximately 1.250€ € per month, (cost of the employer, including social security and taxes), depending on qualifications
Envisaged starting date: 1/3/2023
Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates with a Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Physics, Engineering or related fields are eligible. Candidate should have been registered as a PhD Candidate in Chemical Engineering or atmospheric physics or related fields, with prior experience in atmospheric aerosol and cloud measurements, with an emphasis on Lidar and Cloud Radar, and with field work experience (at least 6 months). Moreover, candidates must have good knowledge of the Greek and English (level B2) language.

5 points/publication, with a maximum of 10 points

Any application received after the deadline will not be considered for the selection.
Applications that are received on time will be evaluated by a scientific committee using the criteria mentioned above. If necessary, certain candidates will be invited to a personal interview with the committee.
